Bush is sending more and more people to Iraq as hes sitting there saying that they were going to pull the army people out. There are more and more recrutes than there are actives. I think that this is really wrong. I dont think that anyone needs to be over there risking their lives for what? NOTHING?! ARG it makes me very angry that Bush says one thing and then does another.

I'll be honest over the weekend I didnt watch a bit of news. I was either asleep or in my car!!!! Although I did watch that story from orleans about the police beating the crap out of that one man. Im gunna keep up with that story!!!!

I think that the debate was interesting but boring. Im still not sure who would be the right person to vote for. I always look at these things like the people are just trying to to tell you things that you want to hear so you will vote for them and I hate that. I kinda feel like you cant listen to the debate you have to do your own research on these people. you have to decide how they grew up and so forth. What each candidate did with their life. I guess if I have to pick one Id pick Kaine. He seems much more confidient with things in the debate and I liked that. I believe that me and Kaine have the same beliefs about some things like the death penalty.

Alrighty....my opinion on what the gov is doing for the hurricane victims in my eyes is not enough. Yes some of the people dont want to leave their homes but that doesnt mean that we have to go in with violence and make them leave. If they want to stay there then it be and let them stay there. Its they're own option. We shouldnt be killing even more people just b/c of that. I know they would be doing that for their own good but still....they would probably be killing them rather then helping them which isnt right at all. For the people that are homeless and money less....the gov needs to provide these people with money and a place to stay. Like appartments....They need to DO MORE! The gov seems to be money eating people that dont are about people in need. Today money seems to be all that people care about, but in reality we need to be caring about helping out people in need. Like this. I suppose the gov is doing the best they can right now though and thats all we can hope for as of right now.

1. Research the impact of Hurricane Katrina on gasoline prices. Why did it cause an increase in gas prices? What are some problems that this increase may cause? What are some things that are being done to control costs?
Hurrican Katrina caused an increase in gas prices because the hurricane destroyed lots of oil rigs that were being kept in the gulf. Since the oil rigs were destroyed, it left us with less oil, which made the prices sky rocket! Problems b/c of the increase may cause food shortage, higher prices for heating oil and natural gas. Also, Increases the rate of inflation. President Bush is talking about how people need to not fill their cars up with gas as much, not take road trips, not take usual Sunday drives and NOT JOY RIDE!!!!

2. Research current gasoline prices across the country. Write a summary on why some states or areas have higher gasoline prices than others. Think about the area's location and population, does that affect their gasoline prices? Include current prices in your explanation.

Atlanta’s gas prices are around 5.87 a gallon. Atlanta is right by the gulf so that explains why their prices are so high….also they’re population is A LOT. The more the population for the area the higher the gas prices b/c the more need of gas from area customers. Places like VA, as recent are around $3 a gallon, but prices are getting higher and higher a day. Even though the population might be high or low the gas prices are going to go up either way b/c of the shortage.

3. Describe the changes in gasoline prices in the last fifty years.
The gas prices for the past 50 years average from lowest 1.28 to highest 2.59. With the need of gas prices then the prices either rise or lowered.

4. Compare gas prices around the world. Do certain regions have lower prices than others? Which countries have the highest prices and which have the lowest? How does the current prices in the United States compare to the rest of the world?
Tcertain regions do have lower prices than other just b/c of their location and population. The highest gas prices are probably in Amsterdam and Osolo. Those countries are paying at the least 3 times the amount that we are. So even though we have it bad….other countries have it a lot worse than we do.

5. Write down or copy/paste the URL of the websites you take information from so you can quickly go back to it if you need to to prove your point. Keep a list of the websites you visited to hand in.

Here's an update on your current event from last weekend. Looks like the FDA has "indefinitely postponed" it's decision about whether the "morning-after pill" Plan B would be available over the counter.

someone please tell me why the president of the untied states is "kind of hangin loose" ?? shouldnt this guy be doing his job....or telling other people how to do his job or something like that? Bush is raising troop levels in Afghanistan....what does that mean? Does it mean that bush is sending more troops over there? I really dont think its right that the troops have to prepare for all this mess while the president just hangs around doing nothing. Thats what I would call a bunch of BS. I dont like how gas prices are going up and up and up, but Id like to think what goes up....must come back down...? RIGHT?! I really dont like bush and thats that.

It sounds to me that this man Barr is trying to get the "morning after pill" as an over the counter pill for us girls to use but cant quite get it there. But hey hes trying and thats what counts. It says..."Barr had two choices. It could have undertaken another "label-comprehension" study with scores of young teenagers and then resubmitted an almost identical application. Or it could have used the data that it had on hand and reapplied to sell the drug as an over-the-counter pill only to women 16 years of age and older. Younger girls would have to get a prescription. On Friday, the agency changed the age to 17." interesting right? I can see why people against abortion wouldnt want this pill to be that easy for young teens to get just b/c of the fact that they think that its not the right thing to do. Me personally I think its up to the women to decide whether or not she wants to take that pill or have that abortion....but thats a very BIG subject that can go on FOREVER....So IM OUT
